I have adjusted the price slightly and re-listed this banjo. I want to reemphasize that this banjo is everything that anyone would want or expect from a professional quality instrument, and you can buy with the confidence of knowing that if you are not satisfied in any way, I will refund to you the purchase price.
Every Year I bring 1 or 2 re-purposed post-war banjos and inevitably they are the hit of the Joe Val festival. They are always the same basic configuration, an early post-war 100 rim and resonator with as much original hardware as I can muster with a Dannick tone ring, usually a no-hole. This is my post-war conversion for this year. It is:
A 1957 Style 100 pot assembly with a no-hole Dannick tone ring. The resonator has been cut bound and finished to pre-war style 3 specs., and the small strip of wood between the ring and rim has been match to the resonator and neck color. The neck is a pre-war shaped piece of old, top growth mahogany and has a Flying Eagle pattern in a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The buttons on the Gotoh tuners have been antiqued as well as all the binding and the mat finish on the peghead.
The tone on this banjo is right up with what you would expect and want in a flathead of this caliber. It does come with a hard case and satisfaction guarantee...Bill
