This Bart Reiter Professional model is a bit unusual in that it has a Whyte Laydie tone ring instead of the usual Bacon tone ring. It appears this was installed after it left Mr. Reiter's shop, but the work was exceptionally well done. The result (to my ears) is a much more focused tonal response than one typically encounters with these banjos. Nevertheless, it is not a stock Professional and that is reflected in its pricing.
The banjo is in excellent shape with minimal fret wear, but I've listed it as "very good" because of the checking in the finish in various places, especially around the heel and some of the "f" holes on the back of the internal resonator. There is some nice figure in the neck, which isn't always the case with these Professional models in comparison with the fancier Grand Concerts. As you can see from the photos, the hardware has taken on a nice patina, but I'm certain it could be brought back to its original shiny condition if one wanted to do so. The banjo comes with its original tweed-covered hardshell case, which is in good, used shape--scuffed up a bit but perfectly functional.

It's a great sounding/playing banjo, but I simply have too many to justify keeping it any longer.
