Hands down the best Goodtime I have ever played. Buttery fingerboard and clear as a bell up the neck. The multi-ply rim gives a nice bright sound. Deering really knows what they are doing with these. This one is an older model, a 2004 to be exact and it has the old "Gumby" headstock which I actually prefer. I owned a 2003 model and forgot how good these really are. Just listen to the videos of me playing this against my dad's 1935 TB-75 archtop. No, it doesn't stand up to it but the fact that this banjo can even BE HEARD in the same room with a pre-war is pretty amazing. This banjo is hands down the best starter banjo, a great travel banjo, two-fingered style, and great for clawhammer. As you can see in the video it isn't to bad for three-fingered style either.
Have come to appreciate the adjustability. Neck action adjustment is Nechville-esque and a breeze. Famous buttery, easy playing Deering neck. Geared tuners are fine. No scratches, scrapes, or fret wear.
