This banjo just came in and it is something else. It is a real canon. It is a Huber VRB-3 Truetone that was ordered in March of 2011 and delivered in 2012. The banjo is all mahogany and was ordered with many extras which include:
* Gold Plated hardware
* Granada engraving
* Light antique finish on the hardware
* Amber gumdrop buttons
* Style 4 marquetry in the resonator
* Wide neck ( appears about 1/64th" wider at the nut allowing better spacing of the strings)
The overall package is stunning and, according to the owner and verified by the extensive paperwork on this banjo, sold for just a six pack and a sandwich under $6000. This banjo has been a primary player and as a result I can't quite classify it as "near mint" or even "excellent", but it is a very strong "very good" condition. The only negatives are that the resonator has a couple of dings, the side binding has 3 small holes where a sliding capo attached, and the frets have some minor wear. That's it folks. The sound is what you would expect from a Huber Truetone, strong and well balanced.
This banjo will provide many years of enjoyable playing and is a deal at $4700...Bill
