For sale is a 1950's Gibson TB100. It is excellent condition with all original hardware (original armrest, pancake tuners, flange, tension hoop, hooks, etc.), full thickness rim, neck, and resonator. Only modification is that the resonator has an eagle and old fashioned US banner carved on the back. This is a professional grade carving and does look quite good, but obviously effects the originality of the banjo. It also has what appears to be top binding, but that is actually a rout the width of the bottom binding to remove the veneer. The exposed wood is colored the same as the binding. It again looks quite convincing and as it's the same dimensions as the bottom binding, it could be routed deeper and fit with top binding. The pot sounds quite good with just the archtop brass hoop as can be heard in the linked youtube video. The price reflects the modification to the resonator, as an unaltered 50's TB100 would price above $1000. No serial number on rim or back of headstock. The conversion neck is available for sale separately or can be included at a reduced total price. Am selling because I just bought a '49 RB150.
