This banjo just arrived. This was one of two gold plated VRB-3, wreath, banjos made by Huber before the original Vintage series was canceled in response to complaints by Gibson. This particular banjo has been back to the factory for a factory installation of the newer HR-30 tone ring. The banjo is in virtually unplayed, mint condition. The sound is very strong with outstanding bass response and good balanced tone through out the register.
If you are a Huber fan, I can't think of a better example of his work to own. The knew version of this banjo, now that Steve is building them again, is over $5700. Here is your chance at one of only two originals for much less.
This banjo also comes with the following documentation:
- All receipts for all work done on the banjo
- Notes from owners conversation w/ Steve Huber and an email, the same day, confirming that this is one of two.
- Huber's original add for the vintage series. A page pulled out of Bluegrass Unlimited.
- Huber's web posting of why the series was discontinued.
- A Bluegrass Unlimited full magazine, "The Instrument Issue" which featured Huber Banjos.
