This is a "collector grade" Vintage Granada FE. Made in 2008, it is number 13 of 25 built of this popular model made by the Gibson Custom Shop. Every attention was paid to the detail when Gibson built this fine instrument. They were really going after the mystique that made their pre-war banjos so famous. I think they achieved that goal with this banjo.
The banjo is in near-mint condition. some small wear on the armrest, very little fret wear, and wood that is near perfect, but for some very slight, almost imperceptible buckle marks on the back of the resonator. I mean you really have to look close to see them. This banjo was produced with the Crowe tone ring and it really delivers "the" sound. Everything is all original except the bridge and strings and the original Gibson bridge is with the banjo. If you are a fan of the Gibson Granada banjos and are looking for a collector grade model that delivers the pre-war Gibson sound, this might be one for you to consider...Bill
