This is a new Barry sholder 5 string Gourd Banjo. The neck is Red Oak and has a fretless fingerboard made from Ebony. The peghead has a beautiful overlay of figured Cocobolo. The tuner are ebony friction violin tuners, and the banjo is strung with a customset of Diaddario nylon and composite classical nylon string. These feel harder than nylgut strings that usually feel like noodles. The gourd on this banjo is a large 11 1/4"dia x 6 3/4" deep and has a 2" sound hole with a carved and burned rosette.
