This is a new Barry Sholder Gourd Banjo #024 "Woodspirit" This banjo has a handcarved Woodspirit Peghead and a Cherrywood neck. The fingerbaord is fretless and is made of Ebony. The banjo has friction Ebony violin tuners and comes with a custom set of Diaddario nylon and composite classical guitar strings.. The gourd is a canteen style gourd measuring 11"dia x 3 1/2" deep with a soundport in the upper side. This is a knarly gourd with insect marks and has been stained a redbrown which makes it look like old leather. I usually refer to this banjo as " Knarly Ned".
