This is the rarest of the modern production models from Gibson. This limited run started in 2009 with the plan of 15 banjos. Production was cut short with the May 2010 flood ending Gibson banjo production altogether. Only 10 or 11 of these were completed. The body of the banjo is classic Gibson Style 75 with a mahogany neck and resonator with concentric rings. The “vintage lacquer“ was used by Gibson with a formula from the 1930s making a thinner traditional finish designed to let the mahogany wood “breathe“ with less restraint compared to modern thicker finishing practices. Obviously these are exceeding rare with only a few in existence. This one is all original and remains in fabulous condition with its certificate of authenticity. If you have any questions or desire, additional pictures, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking.
