This was Bill Emerson's personal 1993 Masterflower, made for him by Geoff Stelling and confirmed in an email exchange when the banjo was on the market about 5 years ago. Bill played this banjo extensively live as well as on his 'Appaloosa' album - a digital copy and original cassette will be provided with the banjo - Bill personally highlighted the tracks he played this specific banjo on. Original Stelling hardshell case is in pristine condition.
This banjo has been set up with its original tuners (Schaller D and Schaller Stelling planetaries), a new Stelling head and had a full stainless fretjob at Deering back in 2022 (no sign of wear on the frets). Aside from some matte to the finish on the resonator and string change marks on the headstock, nothing truly impactful.
One of the special StewMac rims which Geoff bound with black and ivoroid inside/out - I've seen these on the higher end Stellings only.
A truly special banjo from one of the greatest of all time - sounds and plays spectacular.
