What keeps this Electric Drill from being an ordinary electric drill ? It was owned by Banjo Master Earl Scruggs ! – AND - was autographed with an electric engraving pen ! (Talk about carved in “stone”) Earl was known for engraving his name on many of his possessions – including multiple parts of his famous and prized 5 string banjo ! This drill has Earls name engraved into it along with the year. It served Earl well until one day he and his friend & caregiver (while his wife Louise was hospitalized) needed to drill a hole and the drill failed to work (and has not been repaired). The caregiver got a replacement drill and was able to retain Earls original. The drill includes a signed letter of provenance detailing the story and is signed by Earls friend and caregiver (and Banjo Hangout member). This is a rare and most unusual piece of personal history and an artifact owned by the late great Earl Scruggs.
