Beautiful 1998 Gibson Style 4 with burled walnut resonator and original case. The only non original part on this banjo is the new Huber head which is sounding fantastic! Has original Waverly two-band tuners, Gibson USA flange and the mystery ring (made by Sullivan) that weighs and taps the same as the Crowe ring I've got - and was being used by Gibson regularly when Kulesh rings were in between batches/unavailable. Super clean banjo which sounds and plays fantastic - one of my favorite models - I love walnut banjos and this one does not disappoint.
Condition note: there are two minor lateral cracks in the resonator by the neck notch (pictured) I just traded for a 1992 style 4 with these same cracks. These have been professionally repaired and the banjo is priced accordingly
As the photos show, the original Gibson TKL case is incredibly pristine with the intact inner dust cover…except the locking mechanism latch has been removed (not the first time I’ve seen that!)
