Exceedingly rare and fantastic playing and sounding banjo from one of the quirkiest builders of the 20th century: old time master Kyle Creed. This is a maple, two piece flange forty hole archtop (ring made by Kyle’s pal Bob Flesher at Liberty Banjo Co) resonator banjo. I have posted videos playing the banjo without the flat plate flange and resonator so you can see how it performs as an openback (incredibly) as well as a resonator (I actually prefer it this way even for downstroke styles). The banjo is in well played but truly excellent condition with very little fret wear.
I’ve owned three of Kyle’s banjos and all have been unique and exceptional banjos. These are surprisingly responsive and really articulate banjos and this one sounds fantastic for Round Peak but ain't no slouch as a bluegrass machine either!
Comes in the pictured period hardshell case.
