Bacon and de Montana special Silver bell five string conversion. Serial number 12059. Constructed March 1924. Was converted from a four string to a five string utilizing a reproduction neck attributed to respected banjo maker, Bud Sosebee. Maple rim assembly features most of the original metal hardware including hooks/nuts and Presto tailpiece turned wooden resonator with round hole, flange, cut outs, flathead, silver belt tone ring Dot stick may be from original for string banjo with matching stamp to rim. Some cosmetic damage and tarnish present throughout instrument the one piece maple neck has a bound, Ebony fright, board with non-engraved floral inlays and Ebony pig head overlay in laid in pearl equipped with modern double band geared tuners
