Calling this a Gibson copy is a little bit of a stretch, as the specs don’t line up with any actual Gibson Banjo I’m aware of. The maple neck and resonator match, and are presumably the work of one of the”JFB” (I think) whose initials are inlaid on the back of the peghead. The rim appears to be from a gold plated Flinthill banjo of some sort.
Some hardware like the resonator lugs are nickel, which make me think the neck and resonator were initially attached to a rim with nickel hardware.
The neck was recently fit by Bennie Boling at the Huber Banjo’s shop, as it had shims when I acquired it.
Tuners are Gotoh. The bridge is a .656 roasted Sullivan.
Definitely kind of an oddball but a good playing and sounding instrument. Comes shipped in a hardshell case.
Thanks for looking and please reach out with any questions.
