I believe the pot was assembled in 1928. I once tried to date it based on the fon number. The FON number is from 1926.
I recall a discussion from many years back, on BHO, that indicated those rims were used in 1928 to mfg this model.
At some point a Clayton pyramid tone ring was installed.
I was first going to purchase the pot only but the seller indicated he had a style 1, non original, 5 string neck he could put on. So I bought that as well.
Has D tuners, but they are not Keith tuners. Nonetheless they work well.
It’s relatively light weight, plays well, and sounds great. Additionally, for whatever reason, this banjo sounds extremely good in D-tuning.
I’ve been playing it since I listed this. Just to look for buzzing or finding something wrong. It’s not the fanciest neck, but it gets the job done.
