l WILL PAY ANY REASONABLE PRICE! Does anyone have a 1920’s friction fifth peg that they would part with? I have plectrum conversion neck from the 404 FON and want this to make it as original as possible. This type has a longer turned section below the button on the capstan or string spool. Friction is provided by a cup at the top of the spline; the string spool is cupped on the end where it meets the splines and forms a socket. Research of series 3 and 4 RB’s made in 1927-1928 using Gregg Earnest’s site show that fifth pegs with nickel plated string spools with a longer lathed section were used on virtually all of the surviving RB, five string banjos, and are pictured. If you have one- please message me with photos through the hangout. Thank you so much! In Tony Brown
