Purchased an 11" clear head a couple of weeks ago for my 1921 Clifford Essex Paragon at Clareen Banjos, possibly the leading banjo makers in Ireland,, in Clarinbridge, Co Galway. Unfortunately, they sold me a medium crown, used for their own banjos, but when I arrived home and compared it to the current head, I discovered I required a high crown. The head is manufactured by Remo and private labeled for Clareen.
Here is an opportunity to purchase an official Clareen head without international shipping and duty. I just talked to Finton Cussen, and he mentioned the last 3 heads they shipped shipped were returned by US Customs with no explanation.
I was just charged $21 by UPS for customs fees for 4 banjo tuner buttons provided free from Rickard in Canada to replace some defective ones.
