Here's an Ode banjo that you perhaps have never seen the likes of before. Thanks to Mike Stanger for his expert knowledge and help in identifying the construction of the pot (very interesting!). He suggests that this banjo may be a 'floor sweep' model made before Chuck Ogsbury sold the company in 1966. The finish on the peghead and heel had deteriorated so I asked Vinnie Mondello to redo it. He, being Vinnie, redid the whole neck-exceptionally! The walnut neck is gorgeous with its ebony fret board, peghead overlay, and heel cap. This banjo is heavy and LOUD.
All the parts are original except for the strings-head, bridge, armrest, tuners etal. Two areas of the binding have shrunk away from the rim, a repair I won't attempt. I don't know if the Lifton case was supplied with the banjo originally as it is one size too large, but in solid condition.
I can take more pictures or try to answer any questions that you may have.
