An extremely good looking parts banjo made of pieces of various pedigrees. This is the best I could figure out about what’s going on with it and please fill me in if you see something I don’t.
Neck: Very well made Gibson branded Mahogany neck from an unkown maker with a rosewood fretboard and a flying eagle inlay pattern. Some dings and discoloration are present, but overall in pretty good shape.
Resonator: mahogany with the characteristics of a style 250 resonator from the 80s-2010. This is possibly a genuine Gibson part but don’t hold me to that.
Rim: appears to be from a Recording King RK-r97 (thank you Blake Gilpin for this information). There is the slight ghost of a label but no markings are present.
Hardware: all tuners are Gotoh, the rest of the gold plated hardware appears to be Asian import of some kind. The tonering is unmarked and weighs 2.12 lbs. One coordinator rod is nickel plated and the nuts are brass.
Comes in a plastic Gator case. Thanks for looking and please reach out with any questions.
