Oldtime fretless banjo with brass fingerboard over ebony.
I built this banjo 20 years ago. I’m mostly playing guitar and fiddle now days.
Maple neck and pot with walnut accents. Neck has steel truss rod, non-adjustable. Headstock has ebony overlay. When I built the neck I added a red veneer under the fingerboard same red accent in the pot. I just think it looks cool and have added it to all the banjos I’ve built.
The pot is 12” across 5/16 thick with an ebony bearing surface the head sits on. Goatskin head five star tuners.
Scale is set up at 23 3/4 inches for key of A tuning but the bridge can be moved back 25 1/2 inches or whatever you like. It does have position markers on the side of the neck but those can be removed.
