A trio of Minstrel Banjo tab books by Joe Weidlich which I purchased directly through Centerstream Publishing many years ago, including:
• The Early Minstrel Banjo (covering over 65 tunes from tutors of the mid 1850s-1860s, including Briggs, Rice, Buckley, and Converse).
• Minstrel Banjo (Briggs’ Banjo Instructor)
• More Minstrel Banjo (Converse’s Banjo Instructor, Without a Master)
• Accompanying CD for the smaller Briggs and Converse books (I happened to remember I had this stashed away in my collection of CDs).
While I found these books to be good resources along with videos by Tim Twiss while learning stroke style, I’ve not had the interest in them to see keeping them, and hope they may benefit the next owner wishing to learn early banjo.
