This prewar banjo was converted and sold probably in the 1990’s in Texas by Jim Yarborough famous banjo luthier who moved here from North Carolina. Most of the banjos life was in Waco I believe. Then Roger Starnes purchased it a few years ago of whom I recently acquired it with another Yarborough conversion neck from the same period and swapped out by Kenny Williams, a local banjo player and accomplished banjo builder and luthier. Most likely the tone ring came from Stew Mac which back then was a Steve Ryan tone ring.
Will come in a used carbon fiber TKL case.
With wagon wheel Remo head, Huber bridge and new five star tuners. All hardware original prewar.
I made no attempt to to clean up the patina but I did clean and oil the neck fingerboard.
