This banjo is probably at least from the 1980's, judging by the age of the previous owner. The wood finish is almost blemish free. There is a hazy area right above the second string tuner that is easy to miss in some lighting. It isn't the result of any kind of impact. The metal hardware appears to be chrome plated. The exception to chrome plating is the tube, which appears to be nickel. Possibly the tube had to be replaced at some point. Take a look at the photos. The banjo is striking in appearance. The workmanship is exceptional.
The most important thing to me is the playability and the sound. Even with strings that are likely decades old and a thin Grover bridge, the banjo sounds performance worthy. The banjo will come with new GHS strings and a quality bridge. And speaking of performance worthy, I attended a Bill Monroe concert in January of 1976. Ibanez had given Bill a mandolin and Bob Black a banjo, which they both played them the whole concert and sounded just like themselves.
Banjo has a nice hard shell, archtop case in good condition. I'm willing to drive a couple hours to avoid shipping. I've got 50 plus years of shipping experience if necessary.
