Gibson RB-00 from the late 30's, possibly early 40's. Neck and resonator are in exceptional condition. It appears that the tension hoop, hooks and nuts, tailpiece and tuners have been replaced. The tuners are Waverly two band with aged buttons. This is not surprising given the nature of the original hoop and nuts, tuners and the original tailpiece. The tailpiece is a Presto repro and the hoop and hooks/nuts are high quality repro.
The banjo will have a new Weather King medium crown head, new GHS strings and a high quality name brand bridge.
The good news is that the prewar one piece flange and brackets, coordinator rod and lag bolt nut and the armrest are original to the banjo, as is the fifth string nut. The neck is straight, with spikes at A and B. Fret wear is mainly in the first five frets. The back of the neck is in remarkably nice condition, with only one noticeable blemish. The fingerboard is very nice Brazilian rosewood, with a minimal amount of fingernail wear.
Banjo ships in a hard shell flat top case is good condition.
As with most 00's the rim is thin. If a buyer desires to put a tone ring on this rim, I can put you in contact with the person who has a Blaylock ring expressly designed for thin rim 00's.
