The Deering Sierra mahogany (2025) is a professional quality bluegrass banjo that will hold its own at any performance, festival or jam session. This is owing to the fact that the tone chamber (pot) is built using a rim made of violin grade maple combined with the highly regarded Deering 06 - 20 hole bell bronze flathead tone ring.
This classic "flathead" ring is used in most professional grade Deering bluegrass banjos and the Clawgrass Banjo line. It produces a sparkling and powerful sound!
Purchased new in January 2025, I am selling this pristine banjo because the weight turned out to be too much for my old back while standing and performing on stage.
I had the 5th string spikes expertly installed at the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th frets by Rufus Guitars in Parksville, BC.
This banjo includes a Deering hardshell case and three-year warranty from Long & McQuade.
