This banjo is a beautiful work of art crafted by riverboat songman/artist Dan Knowles and is a tribute to his friend John Hartford. The neck is stunning needle grain maple. The Rickard spunover rim with Whyte Laydie ring and tailpiece are gorgeously engraved with over a dozen Hartford and riverboat images, and the peghead is an etching alluding to Hartford’s 1971 Aereo-Plain album. The single neck engraving is a meticulously detailed riverboat. There is a backstrap and John Balch 11” skin head. This stunning banjo plays smoothly with a bright sound and is a one-of-a-kind work of visual and auditory art. Hard shell case included.
