Don't get excited--this thing is far from original. It was originally a nickel tailpiece that was replated in chrome, and then replated again in antique gold by Ron Satterfield at Nashville Plating Service. Because of its multiple replatings, it's lost its original marking on the bottom side that would normally be used to identify it as prewar. The two arms that hold the strings (closest to the bridge) have also been filed down slightly for some reason (see pics). All that having been said, if you're looking for the tone of a prewar presto for your gold-plated banjo and aren't concerned about it being in original condition, this is for you! Modern screw/nut.
