If you’re looking for a light weight, American made banjo that won’t hurt your shoulder of your billfold, consider this Vega made in California at the Deering factory. I believe the manufacture date to be 2004, though I’m open to other thoughts on the matter.
This banjo is all maple construction except for the ebony fretboard. The rim has a beaded edge where it meets the head in place of a tone ring.
The nickel plated hardware shows light signs of use, and is all original according to the specs outlined in the hang tags included in the likely original Deering branded Gigbag.
There is minimal signs of use on this banjo, but the finish has not adhered to the resonator wall in some spots. I have tried to show what’s going on there in the photos of this listing.
Thanks for looking and feel free to reach out with any questions.
