Sorry to pollute the BHO classifieds with six stringed specimens, but I feel like this would be of interest to some folks here as it’s a rare opportunity to get a pre war Mastertone for under $1000
This is a very clean 1941 Mastertone branded Gibson made Hawaiian guitar that has weathered the decades quite gracefully. Most of these have an all mahogany construction, save for the Brazilian rosewood fretboard. This one has a sunburst finished ladder braced spruce top paired with mahogany back, sides, and neck. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard has painted on fret markers, which charmingly ran onto the top on the treble side of the fretboard extension. Also please note the subtle pin stripe that frames the sides at the top. Such a great detail I wish was on more Gibson builds.
I just replaced the tuners with Golden Age and had the bridge reglued. It’s received a clean bill of heath and is ready for whatever slidey music you have in store for it.
