TRADE for a Nechville banjo MUST have radiused board and warp drive pickup.

Here is a fantastic 1969 Martin D-18. Fresh partial fret job and new nut completed by Jason Ingrodi of Ingrodi custom instruments makes this vintage piece ready to go today.

Serial number dates it to the first half of 1969 which means a few things...This guitar was one of the last of the old styles as it was one of the last to leave Nazareth with Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, fingerboard, and bridge. It also has the old style "Pepperoni" pickguard. So, from an appearance standpoint, it looks "old style." As with most 69 models, this one has the larger rosewood bridgeplate as the pics show and also had no truss rod.

It's got a great wide grain spruce top, the sound is pure vintage and has been beloved by local bluegrassers for many decades for its fantastic tone.

I’ve taken extensive pics which tell the whole story of this fantastic vintage piece. Ask any questions you’d like.

The neck was reset about 30 years ago and currently shows no sign of needing one any time soon.

All functions well and as it should and is original save the first few frets and the nut. Original Grovers keep her in tune great.

No buzzes anywhere. Some scratches and play wear is noticeable but overall she cleans up nicely for a vintage piece that’s been played.

The sound is rich and full as you would expect from a vintage Martin that has had 55 years to open up! Strong bass without being too boomy, great clear highs, and the typical Martin mid-range. Great sustain, great shimmer. As with any great guitar, you can feel this one in your gut.

It handles a flat pick well for strumming, heavy rhythm, and lead while also excelling at finger style too. With a lighter touch it would be great for any singer-songwriter or vocal accompaniment and of course played a bit harder could dominate a bluegrass jam and keep those banjos in line!

Comes with the original Martin HSC, also in great condition.
