This is a very nice 1928 MB-1 conversion banjo.
The resonator has been refinished and a lower binding has been added. The pot is all original 10-1/2” with all original hardware and brass hoop intact. The head is a new Remo head and the tailpiece is a newer presto style. The bridge is a Sullivan Roasted. The neck has the Style-1 Gull & Wing inlay pattern in a Rosewood fretboard. The neck is a custom built straight grain maple with adjustable truss rod. 5th string spikes installed. There is a slight blemish in the back of the peghead in which there is a small hairline finish line. It is shown in the picture. It is only in the last layer of the finish and has no effect on the stability of the neck. It’s small and hard to see, but I mention it for full disclosure. Comes with new hard shell case. Please ask any questions you may have. Asking $2,200 OBO. Hard to find a prewar conversion at this price!
Would be open to Martin Guitar, prewar TB-3 pot assembly, Rich era Gibson
