I decided to "work" this shopping mall on Coleman and Taylor in San Jose .... and to stop at Guitar Center and look around, on the way over. Well, they had a couple of resonator Deering Goodtimes, few other banjos, no banjo-ukes, bunch of cases ... I hung out with two guys messing around on ukes, pretty cool. And, I got a TKL hard case for $100 out the door, so now I have a case to nestle my new banjo in once I get it. This case is heavy duty, but sadly, since I don't have a car, it will have to provide a "high school band" level of protection, which this one should. It rides along crossways strapped down on the motorcycle rear seat just fine too, which is good.
I took that home and went back BRR it was getting cold! to "work" the shopping mall, was hard going but I kept my smile on and really had fun talking and joking with some people, and made a decent amount. Then came right on home, no going out at night in this cold.
I noticed there were a "million" shoppers at this mall, the busiest I've seen it, but a large number of people seemed to be shopping "on plastic", and the shoppers seemed kind of frantic.
All in all a productive day.
