How do I post a tune or two on the banjo

Posted by John Herrington on Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I've been playing for a little over a year, now, and would like to post a couple of tunes. I' m not sure how to do this...I mean I haven't the faintest idea how this is done. Anyone want to advise me.

I also make gourd banjos and would like to post some pictures and descriptions, etc.

Thanks for any help you can share with me.

You need some sort of a digital recording device, there are many. You can find free ones online that may work good enough for you. You will need a mic as well. Some computers have there own capable recorders already in them. You can also buy a separate recorder from any music store. once you have a recording captured you will need to convert it to mp3, again you can find free ones online, I have one called nero wave editor. once the files have been converted and saved to your hard drive just go through to steps, click browse, then find the file on your computer, then open the file, then up load and it will be posted. This is one way anyway, there are probably alot of others. Google or search in waht ever engine you use to find whatever info you need, it`s all out there. Good luck!

Hey John, There is a great free sound editing program called "Audacity," available at Once you have a sound file in your computer it allows you to edit it, clean it up, do fade-ins, fade outs, etc. and reconfigure it to .mp3 format (for sending through the internet.) It can really help you make first-class recordings and it's very easy to use. best of luck, Tom

Thanks Tom for you response to my question. Will this enable me to record into my computer?  I need that ability.
