Moving On ....3

Or double thumbing, all thumbs.  aarrgh!!   I seem to be able to double thumb in exercises O.K., but I am driving myself bonkers trying to get Old Joe Clark down.  It just all seems to come out goofey and uncoordinated.  Doing a lot of fretting while double thumbing seems to be the trouble.  I suppose this may be part of what separates the men from the boys.  (sorry ladies, no disrespect intended)  I think I need to devote at least 45 minutes a night for a couple of weeks to get this licked.  I'm gonna be a man!!

I am learning a version of Old Joe Clark.  For a beginner like myself it is a great tune.  It  has given me the opportunity to play the banjo in a new manner.  As a beginner most of the tunes I come across rely heavily on forward rolls.  Old Joe Clark gives me a chance to do things in a different and refreshing manner.  It is still a challenge, so I am all fingers and thumbs as we say in England!

Your gonna be DA man!
