I've been playin' de old banjer again, and have been thoroughly enjoying my Bart Reiter. I have over 25 years in on the clawhammer now and how I got started you can check out my bio.
I've always been a highly melodic player and also play tunes in 6/8... (Jigs.) My banjo playing has grown more conservative lately... I have to laugh about that.... One time I was at a contest and the legendary Woody Simmons was there and I ended up beating him with my psychadelic version of Old Joe Clark... he was hoppin' mad! At the time I wasn't aware of Woody's famous highly competitive spirit... But I realize he was right... he should've won. Nowadays anytime I start gettin to notey, I can't help but think of Woody!
I specialize in old music from the Appalachians of SW PA, Western MD and some of WV...
