in 2009, i would like to bring my family to the US and take in some sights that would interest my kids (10 & 8 years) as well as maybe a Bluegrass festival or two. I would like some ideas on where we could visit and stay (limited budget). Any feedback would be welcome so if you have some great ideas, let me have them. I'm, new to the 5 string and would like to visit the home of Bluegrass but need to think of my wife and kids too, to make sure they have a good time as well.
I look forward to hearing from you.
PS i live about 1 mile from the famous Wedgewood (pottery) factory in Stoke on Trent, England if you are wondering where i am.

Nashville, TN, is family friendly and cheap compared to cities on the east or west coasts. Bluegrass every night, country music at the Opry (which is not cheap), and plenty of festivals from May to October each year. Monroe, father of bluegrass, lived in Nashvile as adult and as child lived at Rosine, KY, 1.5 hour drive north of Nashville. Good planning!
