Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was actually a key that could open your heart to great joy? A way to lift your spirits even in the hardest of times. As someone who has suffered and battled depression as long as I can remember, I have searched most of my life for this key.
Today I can say that the dark clouds are seldom around me to block the sun. I remember years ago when I reached a low place and was treated by a doctor who understood and prescribed medication to combat the deep depression that had a stranglehold on my life.
It wasn't immediate but relief did come. When it did it reminded me of the scene in the old Wizard Of Oz movie when black and white turns to glorius color. I was almost afraid to allow myself to believe it could be true. Yes, I was happy and seeing clearly for what seemed like the first time. The clouds would return but not to stay as before.
This method is not the only one , I realize that. The same cure is never for everyone. Some might doubt the faith of someone in my situation but I can tell you I had it. And the answer came in God's own time. The fact is it came. So many hardships come and we think they will never end. At times the end result is not the one we wanted. That doesn't change anything in Heaven and Earth.
There is a limit to our understanding and it is a blessing that I can't control most of what happens around me. What a mess I would make. When I lived in darkness I missed so much. I was unable to recognize my truest friends. My eyes were closed as well as my heart. Oh, but what a happy ending there would be!
I think the biggest tragedy of depression is the feeling of being alone.Hopelessly sinking farther down. I tell this story in hopes that someone might be out there now feeling the darkness over them and will read this and believe there is a key. You only have to reach for it. Don't fight the clouds alone. You don't have to. Someone cares about your life. Believe me, someone cares.

I have been there, too. It is the edge, the limit of your own world. I found it was like looking into a deep black chasm. Only the brave, the fortunate and the wise go there and come back. I do not want to go through those days again and my thoughts and prayers are with all those who go there. Amen

Darrell my dear friend,I had my account blocked briefly for statements such as the one I'm about to make but hey so be it. Speaking for myself after what felt like literally going insane and feeling eons away from veryone else in the world I discovered the only one that could possobly help me was JESUS CHRIST and being filled with the holy ghost. hope I haven't offended any one I just wanted to share who helped me when medication failed.
