hello folks,first log of the blog for a wile,ive been sick with the spanish flue,at least i think that was it,my grandad died of it in 19,and i reckon the symptoms sound the same.Havnt played the banjo much,but today picked up my vega mandocello banjo(its real,14inch pot,bout 1912)and flangdanged away for a wile until my wife came in and said could i please play something that sounded like music.this happen to any others out there?Now my fingers are real sore,damn them extra hevy mandocello strings,tomorrow wil play ukulele.

p.s everyone should buy mr Fred Pribacs album"the push on the corner" its got some real nice banjo playing on it,nothing debilitated or anemic.

yep,there aint a lot around.these days,every "cool" singersongwriter and wannabe "roots" artist is strapping on the banjo as a fashion accessorie because its so darn authentic rootsie,and it convinces them and their dumb fans that they have acess to real music and credibility,while true artists like fred and ray chaber are stil considered folkie fuddyduddys. i wouldnt mind it so much but none of these imposters can play worth a damn! anyway,this rant i will save for my next blog when im not so choleric.thanks for all the well wishes,i havent been paid this much attention since i faked the mumps at age 11.til next time
