These are hard times. We as a nation have always been able to face adversity and bounce back but this time we need help. The news paints a disturbing picture. It is hard to be optimistic in the economic climate we are in. I can't help but feel we have been sold out by people who are too greedy to worry about thousands of ruined lives.
Banks gave loans on houses that were unrealistic and bound to fail. The American dream is becoming something only the very wealthy can realize. The fuel situation is troubling and I fear that the truck drivers and rail systems will be destroyed.
The jobs that have left here and continue to leave were mostly good paying ones and are being replaced with low wage positions. How can people afford to live? I know this is depressing but I am truly worried about the fate of all of us. I wonder how much longer people in leadership postions will be able to dodge accountability?
God Bless America is much more than a song or phrase today. If there ever was a time we need God it is now. Instead of turning away from Him in all directions. I pray that we as a country will seek favor from him. It seems to be out of our hands. Hasn't it always been though? One Nation Under God. So many have shut the door on Him. If we are united in prayer and earnestly ask He will surely hear. God bless and keep you. Raise your eyes to the sky. Our Redeemer lives.

In my small opinion, we as people chose our own path and because of the courses we take we will influence our own destinies. Things are not all doom and gloom. People recover from all sorts of malice, sadness, blight and can become stronger for it. Think of all the things that bring you comfort and apply your best attitude towards your future and you will help our world be a better place. Only you can spread the joy of your Redeemer.

You are absolutely right. All of us have a choice. There is much doom and gloom to be found but something can be done. If we sit still and do nothing and say nothing and pretend it all away then we have chosen a path of foolishness.

Great ideas, Darrell. Maybe we should go from, "God bless America," to, "America--bless God!"

Could be banjotef, I know I don't reflect everyones views or opinions as suggested by the first post, the one before yours I mean. There are many who are presently unaffected but regardless many are suffering. If we are ashamed of God He will return the sentiment. That isn't intended for you my friend. It is intended for the priveledged who believe their arms are long enough to box with God.
