The kiddo and I were out most of this late afternoon until about 9:00 this evening. I logged on to check my email and found out that a good friend of mine, who is several years younger than I am had a heart attack last night. All of my petty worries came to a complete halt as I made a couple of phone calls to make sure everyone was in the loop.
You just don't even consider the possibility that a very active, very vital 40-something woman will have a heart attack on a Saturday night. She's doing very well and will be home in a couple of days, but still... it gives one pause, don't it?
So, in light of this, I ask you all to take a minute to hug your spouses and kids and other people you love, whether in person or just with a quick email or a phone call. As the old adage goes, don't sweat the small stuff--and it's almost ALL small stuff.

Good advice, Joan. These events have a way of making us step back for a moment for a better perspective. Hope your friend recovers 100%!
