There is a new star on the horizon! Our own Banjo Diva has a column in the Banjo Newsletter every other month. And it is great!
She covers a variety of topics that will be of interest to all pickers and quite helpful to those just learning their way around the banjo. There is nothing more reassuring than hearing that you are not alone when you feel frustrated or nervous about playing for others.I am older than dirt and still freeze up when a mic goes on.It is nice to know I am not the only one who gets intimidated at times.
Reid gives a fresh and witty twist in telling her experiences while travelling down the banjo super highway.More than anything it is a reminder that playing the banjo is a joyus act if you don't beat yourself up too much by expecting too much too soon. She has a knack for writing and is knows her stuff!
When a writer is good, you can't wait to read more.I believe you will find this to be the case here.Anyone interested in the banjo or bluegrass will enjoy her column and I hope she gets lots of support from her banjo family here at The BHO. I am sure she will. Her talent stands up very well by itself.
Just think, we can say we knew her when... Get a copy and find out for yourself then let her know how much you like it.I have no reservations in saying I know you will. I know I sure do.
