florida banjo cd cover

Hello friends, family, and dear ones,

Here is my once in a blue moon news flash. :)

Florida Banjo, our new CD, came in the mail late last night.
We are very excited about how it came out and hope you will be too.
Visit my webpage to see the cover, musicians and tunes and to order your
very own copy. :)

Here is a link to a 30 second preview of Florida Banjo with "Ponce de Leon"
(it's on the new CD) playing in the background.

I'm on spring break right now, so I put up a few short videos on Youtube
that you can see by clicking on my name.  :)
We are heading off to Willfest sometime tomorrow--hope to see some of you
there. :) Bob & I will be playing at noon and at 5 PM on Saturday. Ernie
Williams and I will give a banjo worshop at 10AM at the Banjoseed tent,
and I'll be giving a mountain dulcimer workshop at noon on Sunday.
This is a really fun festival and hope to see you there!
Bob and I will also be at the Florida Folk Festival on Memorial Day
weekend, and after that we will be heading for Pasadena, Albuquerque, and
Brasstown, NC. If you will be in or near any of those places in
June--please come out to our concerts and workshops--it is always
wonderful to see smiling familiar faces in a distant town. :)

Here's a first look at our schedule, and more details are coming soon. :)
The Recording King company has been very generous with me and put a
beautiful new Ne Ultra plus in my hands this year. I have been enjoying
playing it very much, and they have me as the featured artist on their web
site this week, if you'd like to take a look. Click on the artist link and
my photo to see more photos and video.

The John Bowlin 1865 came in this month, and I am having such great fun
with it.
Here's a quick video I took of it playing a new tune "John Bowlins's
Groundhog Strut. :)

Yes--that is Bluepup--our parakeet, singing in the background. He really
perked up that day and sang with real gusto along with the Bowlin. :)

If you look at the other videos near this--you will also see a couple of
me playing my new John Hartford open back. I am really in love with this
banjo. It is so lightweight that I can even stand and dance around while
playing. :)
Natalie leaves for Italy at the beginning of May for two months. She will
be in Florence and studying as part of the FSU Florence program. She is an
art major--so she is very excited about the trip.

Arcy (Sidney) is now Dr. Cox and has his degreee in biogenetic
engineering. He has a post doc position at Cal Tech this year. Bob an
