Well my friends.The deal with the trade of my Gibson toward that Appalachian fell through.The pitiful state of the US economy doesn't make folks want to spend money.Or like me,they don't have much to begin with.
Ebay has an Appalachian for $300.00! The only problem is the neck has been broken twice in accidents.Glued with Gorilla Glue.Now how do you have two different accidents that both result in your banjo neck being snapped off?Most places I have played weren't that rough.
Maybe that banjo was used in a rock band.The ones where they slam their instruments on the floor.Otherwise how does that happen? Have you ever had a situation that has caused your banjo to break in two?
If I had three hundred bucks I would probably go ahead and buy it just to have it and hope it was playable.I suppose I will wait a while and try to sell the Scruggs banjo outright and then buy the Morgan Monroe.(Not the eBay one).This just isn't a good time to sell anything right now.
All these things will eventually work themselves out as they seem to always do.It helps though to talk things out here like this.That's why I keep coming back.

I bought a Gibson Long Neck from one of our fellow Banjo Hangout members. It showed up with a broken neck thanks to FedEx. FedEx covered the loss, but I was out the banjo. That was a sad day too. I guess accidents do happen, but twice? Well maybe so.
You sure have a great place to live, and especially with a profession like yours.

I'll tell you big D, just hang on to that gibby for a while. Things will come around, and you'll get what it's worth. Personally, if it was me, I'd just keep it, because I don't think you'll ever be satisfied with anything less.
