I practice everyday and I see progress everyday. Isn't the banjo an amazing instrument? It's like the electric guitar of Bluegrass music, and it's definitely one of the hardest things to learn...but well worth it.
I just set my banjo down about 10 minutes ago, having just practiced Foggy Mountain Breakdown. I am proud to say that I am almost able to play FMB flawlessly, and with pretty impressive speed.
At some point I'd like to make a career out of making music, I know I have a long way to go, but the more I learn the faster it is to catch on to things.
Once I get a job and go back to lessons, one of the things I'd like to save up for is a Gibson banjo (I've always wanted one.)
Well, I just wanted to say that the banjo is definitely the coolest instrument...EVER. There's no denying it, I'd like to see one of those "Guitar Gods" attempt the banjo...Scruggs Style lol.

You're off to a great start, Amber! My first banjo was also a Morgan Monroe MNB-2. I now own a used Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard.
It's a glorious obsession! The guy standing next to me in the picture is a great inspiration!

....and the funny thing is, the more you play, the more you like it.
