UK Banjo Players - Bill Evans needs your help!

Posted by bevans on Sunday, January 27, 2008

Hi folks,

I'm heading to the United Kingdom in March to teach at Sore Fingers Bluegrass Week and I've been working for a couple of months now on booking an additional week's worth of shows in the UK with fiddler Megan Lynch (www.fiddlestar.com), who is also teaching at camp.

We've got just one show booked at the Cabbage Patch Pub in Twickenham, London on Saturday, March 15th and Sore Fingers begins on Saturday, March 22nd. While we've had a couple of bites of interest from some promoters in England and in Ireland and we've got an American agent working on this for us, no other shows have come through as 100% confirmed as of Janaury 27th.

Therefore, I'm asking for your help! Megan and I are interested in any possible gigs that would allow us to at least cover our expenses and see some interesting parts of the UK. Anything from a pub show to a house concert would be feasible. We're also in need of accommodations during our travels (two rooms, two beds). If you might be willing to serve as a host to two itinerant American bluegrass musicians, we'll return the favor with good company, good music, a possible free lesson, free CDs - you name it!

If you have any ideas that could help us, please respond to me off list by writing to bevans@nativeandfine.com.

You can hear a few live tracks from Bill Evans & Megan Lynch by visiting www.myspace.com/billevansandmeganlynch

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Bill Evans
