January concerts and workshops!

Hi folks,

January is a busy month around here, with a slew of concerts and workshops in California, Oregon and Washington state. Here's all of the info you need:

January 17: Portland, OR: Bill Evans "Secrets of Great Bluegrass Banjo Backup" workshop at David Sauer's home in SW Portland, 7 to 9:30 p.m., $40. Advance reservations recommended by contacting Claire Levine at 503-282-0883 or email to clairell@aracnet.com. Directions will be given after registration. Workshop is for all levels of players with more than one year of playing experience. Even advanced students will learn a great deal at this session!

January 18:
Portland, OR: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch play a house concert at Claire Levine's house. 7:30 p.m., $15 admission or $10 with workshop. Contact Claire Levine at 503-282-0883 or email to clairell@aracnet.com for reservations, directions and info. THIS CONCERT IS ALMOST SOLD OUT AS OF MON 1/14. CONTACT CLAIRE SOON TO SAVE A SEAT!


January 19: Seattle, WA: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch take over Dusty Strings for a day! Bill presents two bluegrass banjo workshops at Dusty Strings, 3406 Fremont Ave. N, along with an evening concert with Megan Lynch. The Secrets of Great Bluegrass Banjo Backup, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and How To Work Up Great Bluegrass Banjo Solos, 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. $40 for one workshop or $70 for two. Evening concert is at 7:30 p.m., admission $18. Reservations and additional info for all events at 206-634-1662.

January 20: Bellingham, WA, Bill Evans and Megan Lynch in concert at Nancy's Farm, 2030 E. Smith Road, 98226. Showtime is 2 p.m. Suggested donation $8 to $12. For further information, phone 360-966-4640. Reservations recommended.

January 21: Bellingham, WA, "Working Up Great Bluegrass Solos" workshop at private home, 7 to 9:30 p.m. $40. Contact Len Helfgott at 360-647-0203 or leonard.helfgott@wwu.edu for reservations, directions and further info.

January 22: Bellingham, WA, Bill is part of a one day residency at Western Washington University. Details TBA!
