Pocupine Award

Posted by arnie on Sunday, December 9, 2007

Ragged But Right has won a 2007 Porcupine Award. The awards are randomly given by DJ Steve Fruitman from CIUT Toronto who has a show called Back To The Sugar Camp. He started the awards in 1999 I think to give some notoriety to other Canadian musicians who in his opinion are deserving of recognition and were left out of the Juno Award contest. We have won the Jack Hayes Award for our old time music recording of the new cd "Down Harmony Road". Jack Hayes was a noted Canadian square dance caller. When he called, his style was like that of an army sergeant. I remember clearly when he'd change the call he'd sternly say "Go - Now - Move'!" and you'd better have done it or else.
