A week after my last blog post, I was driving back to my shop on a scooter and got rear-ended by a truck while stopped at a stop sign. Spent a month and a half in the hospital. It gave me a lot of time to think about the banjo and actually read 5 banjo books. Interesting stuff and tips there. I also learned a ton about music theory. I suppose I would have had to do that at some point anyway.
Seed to today, and I am out of work for at least another month, and finally have some time to devote to the banjo. I finally just purchased another ring and got my banjo back together. I really would like someone to look at it, but there are no resources here in town. There is a guy an hour away who I will try and get out to in the next few weeks though.
My hands are tired from practicing. I have a goal of an hour a day six days a week. I usually make about 30 minutes a day though. I am finding some improvement though. Very cool. Anyone reading this have a plan that they follow? I am looking for ways to keep up the practice and get better in general. Should i try to learn songs? Just practice the same rolls over and over? Any tips would be great.
